This 1970 Cadillac Eldorado was originally purchased by the Sales Manager at McCaddon Cadillac in Boulder, Colorado. Then it spent almost 40 years in the ownership of a collector with 200 Cadillacs in Scottsdale Arizona until we bought it almost four years ago. Those hot dry years have kept the vehicle rust free, very original and very lightly used. Since arriving in Australia it has been on NSW Historic Club registration and has added less than 2,000 miles to the 102,000 it had when it arrived. The 1970 Cadillac Eldorado was a unique milestone car considered a "personal luxury muscle car". Any way you look at her “Big El” is magnificent. She has power and torque in abundance, and a superb ride. This is the ultimate muscle car cruiser. 1970 was the first year for the enormous 500 cubic inch (8.2 litre) V8 which was rated at 400 horsepower (298 Kw) with a whopping 550 foot pounds of torque (750 Nm). This huge engine was at its most powerful in 1970 cars as de-tuning and emission controls reduced its output in later cars. When tested in 1970, it could propel this 2 tonne Cadillac from 0-60 mph in 6.7 seconds with a top speed of 127 miles per hour! This was (and still is) the largest passenger-car engine ever built for production. The 1970 Cadillac Eldorado is unique in several ways with performance, horsepower, torque, unique styling, and luxury muscle car appeal.
